Karnataka completed a 139 run victory over Rajasthan in their Super
League tie at the RSI Ground in Bangalore today but they were kept in
the field for longer than they would have bargained for on the final
morning as the Rajasthan tail wagged on.
It took all of 17.4 overs for Karnataka to wrap up the last two
wickets today in the face of an uninhibited onslaught by Rajasthan
No.9 DP Singh who ended up with 85 from 87 balls (14 fours and 2
sixes). Resuming at 128/8, the ninth wicket stand between Singh and
Anup Dave blossomed to yield 82 runs. Joshi, who went wicketless
yesterday, added the last two to his kitty to finish with match
figures of 8/126 as the visitors' innings terminated at 219.
Rajasthan stay at 3 points from 2 matches and go on to play Bengal at
Calcutta from Feb 24-27 while Karnataka, who also face the same
opponents at Calcutta in their next game from March 4-7, took their
tally to 8 points.
