George Hankins signed a two-year-deal with Gloucestershire after an outstanding 2015, in which he broke Kent batsman Daniel Bell-Drummond's record for most runs in a season at Millfield School. He also made his highest 2nd XI score with 166 vs Warwickshire 2nd XI and played for an England Under 19 Development side against Australia Under 19s.
Such an eye-catching introduction encouraged Gloucestershire to give him regular first-class opportunities in 2016. He made his debut against Durham MCCU in pre-season and added nine Championship matches, striking a maiden first-class century against Northants in Northampton. He was also named as England U-19 player of the series in a limited-overs series against Sri Lanka.
The Bath CC batsman - who hails from Bitton - has been with Gloucestershire since the age of 15. A useful off spin bowler, he spent the 2015-16 close season at the Darren Lehmann Academy in Australia.
