A seam-bowling allrounder, Donald Tiripano is blessed with a tremendous work ethic and an eagerness to learn. These qualities have helped him to forge a career with the Mountaineers and earn national honours across all formats.
Accuracy is his primary asset with the ball in long-format cricket. In April 2018, he picked his 200th first-class wicket in his 68th match. Tiripano can swing and seam the ball in seamer-friendly conditions. He's now added cutters and a homespun back-of-the-hand slower one to his repertoire in limited-overs cricket.
Skills such as these that brought him one of his finest moments on a cricket field. asked to defend three runs in the final over off a tense West Indies chase at Queens Sports Club in November 2016, he picked three wickets to inspire Zimbabwe to a heart-stopping tie.
Tiripano works very hard on his batting, as his first-class hundreds will testify, and he topped the run-scoring charts for Mountaineers in the 2017-18 Logan Cup competition batting in the lower middle order.
Tiripano is married to Chipo Mugeri, a regular in the Zimbabwe women's side and, latterly, the national women's captain.
