As Jasprit Bumrah collects the trophy and hands it over to the latest entrant of the India squad - Rinku Singh - it is time for us to say goodbye. Ironically, the sun is out now. It stayed away all afternoon, maybe it didn't like that the moon stole its thunder today. Anyway, thanks for joining us. Hard luck Ireland and congratulations India.

6.14pm We will indeed have a presentation.

Winning captain Bumrah: "It was frustrating waiting for a game to happen. This was something we did not see coming because the weather was fine earlier. It's been a lot of fun (captaining) and an honour captaining them. They were enthusiastic and eager even when rain was around. (Wanting to captain) I don't think about that [injury.] When you get a chance to captain your side, you always take it. As a cricketer you always enjoy responsibility. (Injury issues...) All good no complaints."

Ireland captain Stirling:"Periods of good cricket... in patches. A lot of positives but its about finishing those games on. India always gives high-quality good cricket when they come here. (Competition for places in Ireland side) Would've been good to get a game today and give few fresh faces a chance. Journey towards T20 World Cup continues. Its a build up for 10 months."

Jasprit Bumrah is the Player of the Series. He wins an e-bike.

5.58pm The two captains have shook hands. So that can only mean one thing. Match abandoned. India win the T20I series 2-0. We'll hang around for a while to see if Bumrah, Stirling and the potential Player of the Series have a chat.

Seshu B : "Indian cricket fans wont be disappointed even if this match is called off as we are still celebrating the landing of Chandrayan 3 on the moon."

5.55pm The chances are high that the game will be called off.

5. 39pm There is still hope as the rain has stopped, covers are being removed, and the players are on the field (in their practice gear). Next inspection is at 5.45pm local.

5.08pm The game must start by 6.47pm local for a 5-a-side contest. Indian fans are having a great time. There are lots of drums and music around the ground. "There is still hope," Justin tells me. But the rain has to stop first.

Elsewhere, the 2023 FIDE Chess World Cup final between 18-year-old Indian R Praggnanandhaa and world No 1 Magnus Carlsen will be decided in tie-breaks after a second consecutive draw. The rapid tie-break format represents the Indian's best shot at beating Carlsen having done it before. Can Pragg create history tomorrow?

Meanwhile the ODI World Cup warm-up game details are out. The ICC revealed them today.

5pm Thanks Ashish. I'd prefer a naagin-dance off. (sorry the Asia Cup is on my mind). Meanwhile bad news, as Justin's post below shows. He also tells me that there is no wind blowing across. Wind atleast blows the rain clouds away. Frustrating!

As I sort some dinner, here's Sreshth for the next bit. What do you think Sreshth of some other ways to decide a rain-curtailed match?

Saurabh: "Bowl out is a tried and tested and a fun way to arrive at a result."

AFDB: "I am more worried with Dew than Rain being the deciding the fate of the game. As Rain is somewhat liberal to both teams, but Dew favors team batting 2nd the most (in several occasions)"

4.45pm We have officially started to lose overs now. The rain seems to be easing but nothing concrete at the moment. We'll let you know as soon as we have some new information.

Malokee: "Both the captain nominate one player each to play EA Cricket and it can be live telecasted." :D :D

Amit: "With more cricket being played nowadays, so many matches getting affected by rain. There must be a way to reach result and make it entertaining. Perhaps fielder direct throw to single stump to decide like penalty?" Haha. Interesting. What are the other options that we have? Let's hear in the comments section.

David: "@kallu Perhaps may be India should let their pool of talent play in overseas leagues. It would not only reward players but the experience and knowledge they gain might help India win an ICC trophy. "

Prasad : "Other than some more game practice for those who got selected for Asia Cup, is there any specific significance of this game from Team India perspective?" Any international game time will serve good purpose especially for the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna.

4.15pm The drizzle is still steady in Malahide. We are yet to lose any overs but will start in about 30 minutes, that is 4.45pm local time and 9.15 IST.

Kallu: "Having too many players in the pool might be leading to uncertainty . As most positions are sealed , we have 10 plus fighting for 1 or 2 places which cannot make anyone feel good "

4.02pm Hello, people. How are things? Still drizzling by the looks of it, and the wait continues. The drainage at the ground is quite decent, so once the rain relents it shouldn't take long for the game to start. Fingers-crossed.

Here's Ashish Pant for a while.

3.40pm update: Toss delayed due to rain

Jagadeesh: ""Are we losing overs ?"" -- Not yet

PV Sindhu is out in her first match of the 2023 BWF World Championships - her earliest exit since she won her first breakthrough medal as 17-year-old exactly a decade ago. In a battle of former world champions, Sindhu's loss to Okuhara was emblematic of her struggles since return from a five-month injury layoff in January.

It is 47 days till the ODI World Cup, and today we look back at the catch that changed the 1983 World Cup final, a story featuring two of the greatest cricketers of their generation Viv Richards and Kapil Dev.

Shahidabu: "Dont understand logic of waiting for toss till the rain ends. Why they cannot do the toss and then wait. Once rains stop they can straight away go to field. Ridiculous " -- Toss decision depends on weather conditions too.

Shashi: "Weather apps are showing no rain for 3 hours in Malahide. What is ground reality?" -- Can't trust weather apps, I guess. The issue is once rain starts, usually cricket cannot start till there is COMPLETE stoppage of rain. Don't have live pictures at the moment, but given how cloudy Dublin is/was today, even drying the ground will take time.

3.15pm Still drizzling. No sign of toss. Here's how T10 is taking over the USA, in the words of Aaron Finch, Robin Uthappa and Yusuf Pathan.

Toss delayed due to drizzle.

Mashfi: "@S N: Not sure about what you're thinking- India literally lost the T20I series to West Indies recently"

S N : "IRELAND and WEST INDIES are very poor TEAMS to judge a Player PERFORMANCE against. -- Agree they're not the best, but both sides have match-winners. These are also away conditions, and for the young set of Indian cricketers that is not easy.

Prasidh Krishna: The team was following the moon landing on the bus. We saw it here. Pretty happy being picked for the Asia Cup. Process is same, continuing the process is important. I still want to do better, I've been running in well, but there's more I can do. Trying to get into the groove. Its about being consistent. If I can be consistent in execution, that's where I want to be. It will be an important game for us. We want to be on point every moment. The weather is a little cloudy but we expect another good game."

2.33pm Toss has been delayed due to light drizzle. Great time to catch up on our #AsiaCupPodcast that breaks down the India squad.

Azweer : "Sanju's future chances are diminishing... he is under pressure to perform today.."

Dinesh : "After moon landing bus please land world cup also " -- finding batters who can bowl (of the Yuvraj Singh kind) may play a big role in that desire. Rohit Sharma recently spoke about that.

2.15pm Anvesh: "I am hoping, opportunities will be given to other players warming the bench today" -- That's the theme of our match preview. Have a read while we wait for the toss at 2.30pm local.

Gee-Yes: ""propel", "eclipse", "back to earth"... the commentator is still on the moon " -- disappointed you didn't spot the other ones!

Ruturaj Gaikwad has made a soft-landing in the India team, with the workload management of senior cricketers giving his international career a liftoff. But life on the fringes can be tricky, and here he is explaining that on video after his match-winning 58.

After sending many a six into orbit, Rinku Singh was over the moon making his T20I debut in the first T20I. But while he has impressed already, there is way more to his cricket story, and, here's Shashank Kishore writing why he shouldn't be categorised into a simple "six-hitting cricketer."

2pm Like the Chandrayaan 3 mission, will the Indian cricket team propel themselves to a victorious day that would seal a 3-0 series sweep? That's the No. 1 question, but it won't be simple because Ireland are aiming turn the tide, eclipse the visitors' charge and leave the series with some sort of silver lining. So come one, come all, and welcome to ESPNcricinfo's coverage of the third T20I. If you're high from the adrenaline of this iconic moment in Indian history, allow a cricket game to bring you, pun intended, back to earth.
