He played for North Queensland in each of three seasons from 1986-87 to 1988-89, gaining selection in the Queensland Under 19 team in the latter season. In 1989-90 he came to Brisbane to join Eastern Suburbs but was drafted to play with QCA Colts in the Brisbane competition In 1990-91 he transferred to play with Gold Coast and stayed with them until 1995-96 when he returned to Townsville. In 1996-97 he represented North Queensland and gained selection in the Queensland Country team for the series played at Toowoomba, retaining his place until 1998-99. He announced his unavailability for 1999-00, having recently been married. He has returned to representative cricket in this season and scored a fine century for North Queensland in the Country Cup match against South Queensland. He had appeared for Country Colts in 1988-89 and was selected as twelfth man for Queensland Colts for the Sydney Gregory Cup match against New South Wales Colts. In the course of the match SG Law was withdrawn from the team and he was allowed to replace him and to bat in the second innings of Queensland Colts. He again represented Queensland Colts in 1989-90. In 81 matches in the QCA First Grade competition he scored 2654 runs at 29.16 with five centuries. He was educated at the Garbutt State School and at the Pimlico High School.
